Precursors to hiring
In 2016 McKinsey noted the need for banks to upgrade their management skills and win the war for talent but noted several recruiting challenges including:
- an insufficient supply of skilled employees
- lack of institutional approach to professional development and talent retention
- the need for more robust human resource capabilities including systems and data management and clearer roles and responsibilities relative to business leaders
Financial services organisations need to become structurally agile, more innovative and the employee value proposition must change. Agreement and action on this predicates the development of a resourcing strategy.
